Spin a team. Sign one of their players. Fill all six slots: LW, C, RW, two D, a goalie. Six spins, six signings, one team rating. The catch: every price is a real NHL cap hit, so the game is finding the value the league missed.
On Easy there's no cap, so tags grade talent only.
Your team rating is your six players' average, scaled so 100 is the single best six-man roster in the league this season. Each run also grades you against this wheel's ceiling, the best score possible from the six teams you actually drew, so a stingy wheel never costs you a fair grade.
Tiers: CONTENDER / PLAYOFF TEAM / BUBBLE TEAM / LOTTERY BOUND. After every run the board shows the best six you could have signed. That's not rubbing it in. That's the homework.
On Medium and Hard you get $25M for six. You can always sign anyone, but every $1M over the cap costs 12 points. The tax always outweighs the talent, so busting the cap is a losing trade. You'll see the damage in red before you sign.
Every rating (0–100) comes from PuckCast Player Intelligence, and it grades this season only, not career or reputation. Skaters are scored on production (points per game), on-ice results (does the puck stay in the other team's end with him out there), and coach trust (power play and penalty kill). Goalies are scored on goals saved above expected, so a goalie behind a leaky defense is judged on the chances he faced, not raw save percentage.
Nobody's perfect: the best season in the league this year is a 99.4. If a rating surprises you, the season probably did too.
Hit NEW WHEEL for a fresh random draw any time. Switch modes for a different challenge, and chase a CONTENDER grade. Share your six and see who can beat the wheel they got.
Wingers fill either wing. Centers, D, and goalies are locked. Players traded mid-season appear on the team where they finished the year.
